Future Projects

Eric Karson maintains a large portfolio of selected screenplays for feature films and television properties covering a wide spectrum of genres and production costs.  Many of these properties are developed with locations scouted, production breakdown boards, documentation and budgets researched.  The target audiences and marketing are clearly identified with regard to issues and entertainment. A few representative examples are included here.

KRYPTOS

KRYPTOS is the continuing story of a private war against terrorist training camps in which Alex Newman leads a group of specially skilled fighters, that are secretly trained by Grand Masters, in a fast paced action drama that is set against a world wide landscape from Taliesin West in the deserts of Arizona, to the Australian outback, to an Octagon training camp hidden deep in the jungles of the Asian pacific region.  For those who make the journey there is, for personal>reasons, no choice, they must face the Octagon. It’s an epic struggle they could never have imagined before they began – filled with intrigue, danger, betrayal, love and self discovery mixed with intense high octane martial arts action.

THE GREAT GAME

THE GREAT GAME A film based on the true life adventures of the legendary 19th century British explorer Younghusband and the 20th century American mercenary Duke CoLee who, although separated by a hundred years, both face the never ending war of Central Asia in Afghanistan.

A 21st century secret meeting at the Royal Geographic Society n London held for Ann Colten by a distinguished British Ambassador, an ex-KGB man and an American CIA operative reveals the truth behind the historic facts as told in the lives of these two men as they dare destiny…again telling the forever truth of a western world hungry for the resources and wealth of the area.

The multiple story lines are woven together by an ensemble cast as they explore the violence the forbidden frontiers of the Hindu Kush and why we are where we are today.

THE GAMES OF ’42

THE GAMES OF ’42 is a classic tale of love and war.  Set in North Africa during World War II it speaks to the timeless issues of honor, desire, human will, the spirit of destiny and today.  Victor Giraud is captured after the battle of Bir Hacheim. He is given a chance to live or so he thinks but then he no longer cares which makes him fearless at least at the beginning.  The Games of ’42 is the story of one man’ survival from earthly demons, while triumphing over his own, the reward is life, if he chooses to accept it.

THE RUNE SAGAS

THE RUNE SAGAS are a series of action adventure films based on the sweeping Viking legends of the dark ages.  These stories of free will and conflicts of religious philosophy and beliefs are driven by non stop action as the Vikings explore the then known world from the Nordic lands to Constantinople – then gateway to the Middle East.  The parallels to issues of today are wrapped in   entertaining adventure with very colorful characters.

WAITING FOR FAT LIP 


WAITING FOR FAT LIP is an unflinching look at the legal system, morality, politics, drugs, murder and the hunger for love in a provocative, profound, amazing story as discussed by four professional hit men sitting in a car on a rainy night awaiting
their target.  To pass the time they each tell how they arrived at this moment in time.  While we watch their lives unfold we draw ever nearer to their moment of truth when Fat Lip arrives and we see why they remain “in the life” the shadowy, secret world of crime and violence they live in.   But before they can reveal all their gangster target arrives.  In the final shootout, one final twist in the stories of Doc, Velvet Elvis, Magic Sam 

DEADWOOD LIFE 


DEADWOOD LIFE Set in the turbulent West of the 1970’s the story centers on Mr. Brimstone and his insurance company of Deadwood Life.  As his newspaper ad says: “Life in Danger? Good News for Bad Risks! Guaranteed Life Insurance! Fast Protection, Any Hazard. Wire Brimstone – Deadwood.”  There are many who rush to answer this ad. Their lives are at stake!  The policies of Deadwood Life are good.  Mr. Brimstone’s job is to see to it that the policies don’t have to be settled, as he says while he pats his two low-slung, pearl-handled Colt six-shooters, “These are my underwriters.”  The insurance company is best described as a traveling Lloyd’s of London with one chilling, spine-tingling difference.  Its owner keeps betting his own life that the company won’t have to pay off.  The result is a thrilling, suspenseful, action-packed, different Western. 

SENIORS HAVE IT TOUGH

SENIORS HAVE IT TOUGH is a credible but outrageous satire in which the cast is primarily 18 or 80.  Its youth versus age in a wild struggle for survival among the ruins left by the 20th century as the two sides fight over cloning, medicine, taxes and survival.  This very visual tale is driven by physical comedy and action. THE G.J. FIXER 

THE G.J. FIXER is a sub-rosa person or as he’s known in the organization “The Dragon,” which is his code name.  Rescue any time anywhere in the world is the issue and if a one man army is required the Global Justice organization will send this man to even the odds.

DEGREES OF CONTROL 

DEGREES OF CONTROL – a classic noir thriller set on an exotic island in the Caribbean. The plot twists and turns to the final frame as two seemingly normal but pathological young women seduce a man and frame him for murder to complete their own mind games.  But what you think is happening is only the beginning. 

IMPI

IMPI is a fascinating story of two young boys who wander away from a family outing and get lost in the lush visual setting of Africa where they encounter a Zulu warrior who declares that they are now his IMPI – a Zulu regiment.  As they survive in the wild they are guided by the warrior while they start to “come of age”  and their parents search desperately for them.   The lessons  learned by all in this unusual tale are profound and timeless.   The glory and majesty of Africa, the wild game, the action and conflicts of contemporary life and the struggle to find true values unfold in a most entertaining way.
